Border Project LAUNCH is a program which initials stand for Linking Actions for the Unmet Needs in Children's Health.
Our goal is to promote the wellness of young children from birth to 5 years of age by addressing the social, emotional, cognitive, physical and behavioral aspects of their development.
We provide to the community effective and innovative early childhood mental health practices and services to improve outcomes for young children and their families. We want to prepare them to thrive in school and beyond while building the capacities of young children's adult caregivers.
To promote healthy social and emotional development, to prevent mental, emotional and behavioral disorders by identifying and addressing early signs of developmental and behavioral concerns. To support and empower caregivers by addressing their emotional well being, self care and positive skill building. To train parents, guardians and caregivers on providing a healthy, safe and secure environment in which young children can learn and grow.
Delivered at our facilities for caregivers of children ages 2-8 who are experiencing behavioral problems.
PCIT focuses on teaching parents skills to establish a warm relationship with their child that helps the child feel calm and secure, and on teaching parents how to manage their child's challenging behavior in a manner that is calm and consistent in the approach to discipline.
Parent Education and Community Training are delivered using Positive Parenting Program (Triple P).
Triple P topics include: Dealing with disobedience, managing fighting and aggression, developing a good bedtime routine, hassle-free shopping with children.
CARE (Child Adult Relationship Enhancement) is a skill-based training to help any adult interacting with children to improve relationships.
It is offered in a 4-hour workshop format and can be arranged for any child-serving or caregiver program in a variety of settings.
Mental Health Consultations help identify areas of improvement and provide guidance for educators and caregivers on how best to manage children’s behaviors in a way that enhances their social and emotional development.
SafeCare
Lessons are delivered in the home for caregivers of children under the age of 5 who want to improve their parenting skills. SafeCare addresses parent-child interactions, child health, and child safety.
Physical Wellness
A family nurse practitioner on staff will screen the physical health of the child in order to ensure the child ins meeting all developmental milestones.
Nurse will provide referrals for continuing primary care.
Health screenings and referrals will also be provided for caregivers.
