SCAN has three (3) YPS Prevention Programs. The Futuros Excelentes Program is located in Jim Hogg county, the Futuros Maravillosos Program is located in Maverick county, and the Futuros Saludables Program is located in Webb county. These programs promote a proactive process to address health and wellness for individuals and communities by enhancing proactive factors and by averting and or minimizing negative factors that place individuals at risk for substance use.
Prevention Education
To increase protective factors, enhance resiliency, and decrease risk factors.
Information Dissemination
To provide awareness and knowledge of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, abuse, and addiction.
To encourage bonding with peers, family, and community to help prevent drug use.
To ensure that participants are provided with information and resources to access support services.
