The Maverick County Early Childhood Coalition (MCECC) has its office located in Eagle Pass, Maverick Co., Texas. However, the MCECC has a regional focus. Therefore, in addition to its focus on Maverick Co., it also seeks to recruit and retain members from the following contiguous and surrounding counties: Dimmit, Kinney, Uvalde, Val Verde, and Zavala. The MCECC emphasizes reducing the occurrence of child abuse and neglect by reducing risk factors and enhancing protective factors through community collaboration, enhanced referral pathways, media contacts, social media messages, formal presentations, and information dissemination. The MCECC also emphasizes community-based education and mobilization activities and developing environmental and social strategies to help reduce the incidence and prevalence of child abuse and neglect.
